Let's talk about your project
What we take on

What your technical direction includes

Three missions, from design to show day. For an agency, as a full mission or as extra support; for a company without an agency, up to complete project management from A to Z.

Design

Turning your project into a sound, lighting, video, structures and power set-up suited to the venue. We carry the technical responsibility for it.

What we do
  • Technical site visit
  • Analysis of constraints: access, electrical power, acoustics
  • Choice of technical solutions

Select and coordinate the suppliers

Bringing the right suppliers, freelance technicians and freelancers together around your event.

What we do
  • Consultation of the suppliers in our network
  • Comparison and negotiation of quotes
  • Production meetings with all the teams

Run show day

On site, the technical director drives the installation and the show. They supervise the production manager, who coordinates the teams on the ground.

What we do
  • Managing the technicians, the control room and the stage managers
  • Live technical decisions
  • Supervision of Event Production Management
Your event, your priorities

A technical direction for every configuration

Beyond corporate: cultural and private events. Our core expertise is corporate events. We also coordinate concerts and shows, multi-stage festivals and large-scale private events.

Technical direction for a festival and for a corporate convention are two different jobs. Our strength is having done both: we produced a festival in Strasbourg, and we have long experience of corporate events, from medical congresses to trade shows.

Our method

Event technical direction: our 4-step method

Our success rests on a rigorous method, applied at every stage of the project.

  1. Audit · layout plans

    Technical audit & design (D-60 to D-30)

    Key actions:
In-depth site visit, analysis of constraints (access, electrical power, acoustics), design of the overall technical solution, selection of the most relevant suppliers for your project, detailed costing.

Deliverable: Complete technical file (layout plans, load calculations and structural calculations (for the inspection body's review), system diagrams, audio and video RF plan depending on the project, electrical power budget, technical specifications, timeline) + Transparent detailed quote by item + Optimisation recommendations on budget/impact.

  2. The two Chroma partners talking in the control room
Coordination · in the control room

    Pre-event coordination (D-30 to D-7)

    Key actions:
Detailed briefing of all the selected suppliers, then production meetings: approval of the audiovisual content (videos, presentations) and a run-through of the main points of the running order. These prepare the real rehearsals, held on site the day before, after the build. Anticipation of critical points.

Deliverable: Final coordination schedule (timeline to the quarter hour) + Show book (contacts, procedures, plan B) + Technical approval of all content.

  3. Supervising the operators in the video control room
    Supervision · video control room

    Supervision (show day)

    Key actions:
Permanent presence of the technical director, management of the technicians, the control room and the stage managers, real-time coordination of all suppliers, immediate handling of the unexpected, live technical adjustments. Event Production Management organises this delivery on the ground with the teams and the suppliers.

Deliverable: A smoothly coordinated event + immediate response on every technical aspect + complete peace of mind so you can focus on your guests.

  4. Aluminium truss laid on the ground during the de-rig
    De-rig · structures

    Debrief & follow-up (D+1 to D+7)

    Key actions:
Supervision of the de-rig and venue handover, detailed technical report, collection and delivery of the deliverables according to the services chosen, recommendations for your future events.

Deliverable: Complete technical report + deliverables according to the services (raw recording of the filming, video vision-mixed live with a simple trim of the start and end of the recording, edit if planned, photos) + recommendations for continuous improvement.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

The answers before you scope your project.

How much does event technical direction cost?

Our coordination generally represents 1 to 5% of the total budget. For a corporate event of 100 people, allow €2,000 to €4,000 for technical direction; for an annual convention of 500 people: €8,000 to €15,000.

As every project is unique, we draw up a tailored quote after auditing your needs.

How much lead time should I allow to coordinate my event?

Recommended minimum: 6 to 8 weeks for a standard corporate event (allowing the best choice of suppliers and quality coordination). For more complex events (conventions, festivals): 3 to 6 months.

We can nevertheless step in at short notice, within 2 weeks, thanks to our network of available suppliers.

Do you work everywhere in France?

Our areas of direct expertise are Paris, Nice, Monaco, Strasbourg and Baden-Baden: local presence, an established network, quick response. We also coordinate events throughout France and internationally, with our network of qualified suppliers.

Technical supplier or equipment hire company: what is the difference?

A hire company offers you its equipment. As an independent event technical supplier, we first design your set-up, then we select the right suppliers and equipment for you.

We do not own any equipment ourselves: our recommendations depend only on your event.

What is the difference between a technical director and a production manager?

The technical director designs the set-up, draws up the plans, load calculations and structural calculations, selects the suppliers and carries the technical responsibility.

The production manager coordinates everyone on site, without drawing up plans. The technical director supervises Event Production Management.

Do you handle the administrative and regulatory side?

In part. The event safety file is not part of our service.

However, we provide the technical documents needed to approve the installations: plans, structural calculations and load calculations. For structures subject to regulation (categories OS1, OP1, OS2…), these documents allow an inspection body to review them, or approval by a certified technician, a member of our teams or ourselves, depending on the applicable regulations.

On-site security can be entrusted to specialist suppliers from our network.

What happens if there is a technical problem on show day?

Our technical director, on site, immediately coordinates the backup solutions. Together, we define the critical points and backup needs beforehand, according to your budget and with full transparency. The selected suppliers have backup equipment suited to your choices.
