Within the Principality's 2.08 km², the Grimaldi Forum hosts conventions and galas: 41,000 m² of modular space at 10 avenue Princesse Grace, the Salle des Princes with 1,864 seats, integrated loading docks and an in-house technical team. The four SBM hotels offer 857 rooms and their function rooms: Hôtel de Paris and Hermitage (Place du Casino, access to the Opéra Garnier), Monte-Carlo Bay and Monte-Carlo Beach.

For your signature formats: the Sporting's Salle des Étoiles (973 m², 802 guests for dinner, 950 for a cocktail reception, retractable roof), the Musée Océanographique (1,400 for a cocktail reception, 250 for dinner, terrace on Le Rocher), the Yacht Club de Monaco designed by Foster + Partners (600 for a cocktail reception, 350 for dinner), the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo (524 seats, Belle Époque acoustics), the Casino de Monte-Carlo and charter yachts in Port Hercule. This command of Monaco's venues and their capacities guides the audiovisual integration.

Areas of expertise

The expertise available in Monaco

Beyond the overall organisation of your event, each of our areas of expertise is available à la carte, to support your team or under full management: technical direction, sound, lighting and video, as well as art direction, graphic design, video creation and scenography.

Each assignment is modular: a single area or the full package. We can also help you identify a venue, but we do not book it on your behalf, and we do not organise accommodation or transport for attendees: Chroma is not a travel agency.

On-site expertise

A Monaco event is won before the build

Venue, access, safety, technology: we check the sensitive points before quoting, to avoid late trade-offs, grey areas and show-day blockages.

Our process for your events in Monaco

Structured support to turn your objectives into concrete reality.

  1. Stage and audience at a Chroma corporate event

    Project scoping

We analyse your business objectives and assess the constraints specific to the Principality. This first step defines the ideal format, whether a countryside seminar or a congress.

    • Detailed brief
    • Assessment of local constraints
    • Shortlist of relevant venues
    90 to 60 days before
  2. Plenary session fitted with a Chroma audiovisual set-up

    Tailored technical design

Our technical architects develop an audiovisual running order suited to the selected venues, such as the Grimaldi Forum. We design floor plans that respect Monegasque capacity limits and safety standards.

    • Costed audiovisual running order
    • Floor plans and runs
    • Venue and supplier approval
    60 to 45 days before
  3. Corporate convention with scenography and lighting

    Coordination and logistical planning

We manage heavy-vehicle access and schedule deliveries within the authorised time slots. This rigorous logistical management prevents the unexpected problems linked to Monaco's urban density.

    • Delivery schedule within the authorised slots
    • Supplier coordination
    • Technical rehearsals
    45 to 7 days before
  4. Congress in progress with an audiovisual control room

Event Production Management on show day

Our team runs the entire technical set-up and coordinates suppliers on site. Your single point of contact ensures immediate responsiveness to maintain impeccable quality.

    • Overall technical management
    • Single point of contact on site
    • Real-time handling of the unexpected
On site from the day before to the day after
  5. Gala evening lit in a reception hall

    Post-event follow-up

We measure the impact of the event through a detailed debrief and the handover of the audiovisual deliverables. This analysis strengthens our role as a partner for your future corporate events.

    • Immediate on-site debrief at the end of the event
    • Delivery of recorded content
    • ROI summary and areas for improvement
Structured report within ~2 months, depending on scale

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers to your practical questions about organising events in the Principality.

Does the quote cover access?

Delivery, unloading, technical parking, but also physical constraints (ceiling heights, door sizes, goods lifts, floor loading) must be visible at the scoping stage, not discovered a week before the event.

Who runs the technical side?

A single point of contact reduces back-and-forth between the venue, the client, the suppliers and the on-site teams.

Is safety included?

Safety obligations and operating rules are not optional: they are mandatory, under employment law and for everyone's safety. We build them into the scoping from the outset, and security can be entrusted to specialist suppliers from our network.

What happens if the plan changes?

The set-up must plan for trade-offs, alternatives and responsibilities on show day.

How is technical equipment logistics organised in Monaco?

Between France and Monaco, equipment moves without customs formalities: no ATA carnet or declaration at the border. The real constraint is logistical:

  • Delivery slots: heavy goods vehicles may only drive in the Principality at certain times.
  • Build schedule: deliveries, build and de-rig are scheduled within these windows.
Do you organise events during the F1 Grand Prix and other peak periods?

The Monaco F1 Grand Prix, scheduled for 5 to 7 June 2026 (moved from its traditional May slot), is the Principality's absolute price peak. Hotel rates are multiplied by 4 to 10:

  • Maximum anticipation: booking of spaces and hotels 12 months ahead, circuit closed from 15 days before.
  • Complex logistics: restricted access requiring specific passes.
  • Geographical alternatives: fallback accommodation in Cap-d'Ail or Beausoleil.

The Monaco Yacht Show (23-26 September 2026) and Top Marques (7-10 May 2026) also create strong pressure. We recommend avoiding these dates for a standard seminar, but we orchestrate your hospitality operations linked to the race.

Can you produce an event on board a yacht in Port Hercule?

Technical production on a vessel presents particular challenges that we tackle regularly:

  • Electrical constraints: adapting our equipment to marine power networks.
  • Acoustics: directional sound to comply with the Harbour Master's Office standards.
  • Boarding logistics: moving equipment via the port's restricted quays.

We design tailored audiovisual solutions fully suited to the marine environment.

How does the cost of an event in Monaco compare with France?

The destination's premium positioning influences the overall budget of your project:

  • Hotels: an average premium of 30 to 50% compared with the Nice metropolitan area out of season.
  • Peak periods: prices multiplied during the Yacht Show or the Rolex Masters.
  • Applicable VAT: standard invoicing at 20% with no reverse charge for French clients.

Our strategic advice aims to optimise your investment by targeting the most favourable windows in the calendar.

Which VAT applies to a French client organising an event in Monaco?

The 1963 Franco-Monegasque convention makes France and Monaco a single tax territory for VAT. In practice, for a French client:

  • Applicable rate: French VAT at 20% (standard rate), as for a service delivered in mainland France.
  • No reverse charge: invoicing follows standard rules, with no reverse-charge mechanism between France and Monaco.
  • FR intra-community VAT number: usable as normal, with no outbound DEB/DES declarations to Monaco.

You benefit from simple, transparent invoicing, identical to an event organised in France.

Can you operate a drone in Monaco for filming?

Flying over the Principality is prohibited without prior authorisation from the Direction de la Sûreté Publique:

  • Lead time: application to be submitted 3 to 6 weeks before the event.
  • Supporting documents: certified pilot, dedicated insurance and a detailed flight plan.
  • No-fly zones: the Prince's Palace, diplomatic areas and the circuit perimeter during the Grand Prix.

This application is prepared with a specialist provider from our network, and we deploy compliant aerial filming when the venue and period allow it.

Can you arrange private hire of an iconic venue (Salle des Étoiles, Musée Océanographique, Casino)?

Yes, the private hire of signature venues is one of the set-ups we know how to scope technically:

  • Salle des Étoiles: 973 m² with a retractable roof, up to 802 guests for dinner or 950 for a cocktail reception.
  • Musée Océanographique: exclusive evening hire, up to 1,400 people for a cocktail reception, panoramic terrace on Le Rocher.
  • Casino de Monte-Carlo and other SBM venues: exceptional private hire subject to provisional booking and venue approval.

Each private hire involves long provisional booking lead times and close coordination with the venue's in-house technical team; we secure the technical side from start to finish.

Is Chroma a general event agency in Monaco?

Our main role is technical: audiovisual production, control, coordination of technical suppliers and securing the set-up. We can work with your agency, your venue or your local suppliers.

Which technical services can be coordinated locally?

Depending on the project, Chroma can coordinate sound, lighting, video recording, streaming, Event Production Management, speaker support and interfaces with the venue.
